Abstract

Your ability to transform your company to meet future market challenges depends on your ability to engage the human spirit – to capture the hearts and minds of people so they embrace change and take the appropriate actions on the job to improve business performance. The author, a learning design consultant with 30 years of experience uses four common business scenarios – a new economy start‐up, a traditional manufacturer, a high concept business and a consultancy – to illustrate the learning challenges inherent in each and to provide action steps for improving the conditions for learning. The author provides checklists for assessing your organization’s ability to successfully implement strategic KM programs and to determine the effectiveness of any learning program.
