National Human Rights Week: 10–17 December
Abstract
Human Rights Week, 10–17 December, occurs each year in the United States to highlight and emphasize international human rights issues. Human Rights Day, 10 December, is the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights signed by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948. In the United States, a presidential proclamation created Human Rights Week, which names 10 December as Human Rights Day and 15 December as Bill of Rights Day. The Bill of Rights became a part of the United States Constitution on 15 December 1791.
