Abstract:

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to understand the concept of self-leadership and how it can bring personal excellence.

Design/methodology/approach – The paper presents a literature review and comments on this timely topic.

Findings – The paper finds that if we are to be effective leaders of others, we must first be effective leaders of ourselves.

Originality/value – The value of this paper is bringing attention to this management concept to information professionals.
