Emerald Literati Network extends Awards for Excellence to books

United Kingdom, October 2009 –Emerald Group Publishing is pleased to announce it will be extending its existing Literati Network Awards for Excellence for 2010 to cover books in addition to journals.

Successfully established 16 years ago, the Emerald Literati Network Awards recognize and reward the efforts of Emerald authors, editors and reviewers and celebrate the outstanding contributions they have made.

Following the success of the awards for Emerald journals, Emerald will launch awards for books in the following four categories:

•    Outstanding Author Contribution Award-Nominated by Book Series Editors
•    Leading Series Editor Award-Nominated by  our Commissioning Editors
•    Leading Volume Editor Award-Nominated by our Commissioning Editors
•    Outstanding Service Award-Nominated by our Commissioning Editors

Richard Reed, Editor of the International Journal of Housing Markets comments “The awards recognise excellence with regards to the submission of high quality research. The authors are acknowledged by their peers and also receive encouragement to resubmit to Emerald as a publisher which recognises standards”.

Winning papers must have been published in an Emerald book series between October 2008 and September 2009.

Emerald will be requesting nominations between November 2009 and February 2010, with winners being notified in March 2010.

Emerald Literati Network provides a series of support facilities for Emerald authors. This facility provides practical tips and guidance on how to get work published, providing copy editing services, the opportunity to contact editors and to be able to gain support and advice though author workshops presented by Emerald Publishers.
