John Peters, Chief Executive of Emerald, adds: "We are delighted to support this innovative event. Climate change is a matter of concern to us all and by awarding a Best Paper Award we hope to motivate more scientific works in this field and encourage more scientists and doctoral students to publish the results of their research.”

Moreover, UNESCO declared the event to be a project of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005 to 2014).
