The objective of Emerald’s Publishing Partnerships programme is to work with other organisations to increase the dissemination of practical management research content through a variety of initiatives. Emerald’s Partnerships include, amongst others, professional associations wishing to enhance their membership benefits through the provision of high quality scholarly research; subject-specific web sites and database services wanting to complement their existing product offerings; and republication and translation rights agreements which make scholarly research more accessible to new markets.
Emerald Publishing Partnerships strive to enhance and extend the journal portfolio by combining Emerald’s publishing expertise with the subject specialities of other organizations to launch top-quality and sustainable new titles.
It is our pleasure to announce that the recipient of the Emerald Publishing Partnership Award for 2009 is:
European Real Estate Society (ERES)
Emerald’s relationship with ERES goes back many years. The Society was established in 1994 to create a structured and permanent network between real estate academics and professionals across Europe, and is now the world’s largest real estate research society both in terms of participation and papers presented at Conference. The annual conference provides an open forum for the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of research in real estate finance, economics, appraisal, investment and asset management.
ERES is dedicated to promoting and advancing the field of real estate research throughout Europe. ERES is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the International Real Estate Society. The ERES conference has rapidly established itself as the leading real estate research conference in Europe and is one of the largest such events worldwide. Previous conferences have taken place in Amsterdam, Stockholm, Belfast, Berlin, Maastricht, Athens, Bordeaux, Alicante, Glasgow, Helsinki, Milan, Dublin and Weimar.
In the past, Emerald has supported the establishment and development of ERES and has regularly published a special issue of the Journal of Property Investment & Finance based on the best papers presented at the annual conference.
The partnership between Emerald and ERES culminated in the 2008 launch of the Journal of European Real Estate Research. The new journal, edited by Professor Stanley McGreal of the Built Environment Institute at the University of Ulster, publishes papers ranging from commercial finance and investment to subjects as diverse as housing and residential development. The common theme of all papers is that they must apply to, or be based on data from, Europe.
Members of ERES receive online access to JERER and 3 other Emerald Built Environment journals as part of their membership benefits.
The Publishing Partner award is given to ERES in recognition of the ongoing support that both the ERES Board and the members of the Society have given to the new journal during its inaugural year.
