Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to review the latest management developments across the globe and pinpoint practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies.

Design/methodology/approach

This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds his/her own impartial comments and places the articles in context.

Findings

This article review picks up where its predecessor finished, which shared an understanding that mindfulness was probably a good thing, but the evidence for its beneficial impact in the workplace was rather thinner than one might expect. Like all good sequels, the author seeks to expand on some of the themes explored in the first instalment, and perhaps provide some answers to the mysteries that were introduced. So, here we have what we hope is Godfather II – i.e. better than the original – and not Speed II – i.e. a pale imitation of the original.

Practical implications

This paper provides strategic insights and practical thinking that have influenced some of the world’s leading organizations.

Originality/value

The briefing saves busy executives and researchers hours of reading time by selecting only the very best, most pertinent information and presenting it in a condensed and easy-to-digest format.
