Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to review the latest management developments across the globe and pinpoint practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies.

Design/methodology/approach

This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context.

Findings

Among the slew of apps that can be downloaded to our devices, many of them purport to help us to be more organized. Some of them organize emails or enable greater functionality in person-to-person communications; some help us identify tasks and move them across virtual boards until they are complete; some remind us to do things at a certain time or place. Many of these are used every day, with some being effective for certain people, and others helping another type of person. In the end, it seems to come down to what suits an individual.

Practical implications

This study provides strategic insights and practical thinking that have influenced some of the world’s leading organizations.

Originality/value

The briefing saves busy executives and researchers hours of reading time by selecting only the very best, most pertinent information and presenting it in a condensed and easy-to-digest format.
