The FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin

Each month, the Federal Bureau of Investigations publishes the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, which is available online through the FBI’s web page, or directly at the following URL: www.fbi.gov/publications/leb/leb.htm Unlike many of the more academically-oriented journals, the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin does not require a working knowledge of statistics or research methods. The majority of the articles are written with the practitioner in mind.

The FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin publishes articles about modern issues relevant to law enforcement officials, many of which are written by police professionals and practitioners in the field. Topics of articles in recent issues discuss, the security preparations for the Super Bowl XXXIX, courtroom admissibility of crime scene photographs, the Family and Medical Leave Act and how it relates to law enforcement officers, and proper investigations of cybersex offenders targeting children (to name just a few). Because of the wide range of the articles published, the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin can serve as an important tool for law enforcement officials in municipal, county, state, federal or special jurisdiction police agencies.

Current and past issues (dating back to January, 1996) are available, free online, as both Adobe PDF files and as HTML files, accessible with any web browser, and subscriptions for printed copies are also available for those that prefer hard copies of the Bulletins.
