Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide an interview with the former IKEA CEO, Anders Dahlvig.

Design/methodology/approach

The paper provides an interview with Anders Dahlvig, former CEO of IKEA and author of The IKEA Edge.

Findings

In the interview, Anders discusses how IKEA's business model, as outlined in his book, can be adopted by other leaders.

Originality/value

The interview highlights IKEA's four cornerstones: a strong vision and values with a social ambition; price and product differentiation through control of the entire value chain; a strong approach to global diversification; and a strong committed owner with a long term view.
