Abstract

Purpose

Paper provides nine guidelines for successful global organizational development.

Design/methodology/approach

Paper is based on author's 25 years in global organizational development.

Findings

Nine guidelines described, including “be authentic, not corporate”.

Practical implications

Guidelines will help practitioners in planning and implementing global organizational development. Some of the guidelines, such as “slow beats fast” are counterintuitive and encourage practitioners to re-think their approaches.

Originality/value

Paper offers a very human approach to global organizational development.
