Abstract
THE demand for improved resistance to fatigue, high temperature and wear of the surface coating of bearings has led the Aero Division of Alvis Ltd. to use silver‐plated bearing sleeves in their Leonides Major air‐cooled radial engine. This engine powers certain versions of the Westland Whirlwind helicopter.
