Purpose – Explains how to develop emotional intelligence within a team.Design/methodology/approach – Sets out a series of techniques that, it isargued, will enable team members to understand each other, support each otherand work together more effectively, including understanding cultural differencesand resolving conflict. Findings – Argues that managers should act asfacilitators and support teams to have the discussions that will enable teammembers to understand themselves and each other and, consequently manage thebehavior and activities of the team. Practical implications – Describeseach of the techniques that are suggested as part of the process of teamdevelopment.
