Abstract

Presents a case study describing the implementation of a product information management system, in an organization manufacturing complex electronic telecommunications equipment. Describes how to measure the benefits of the system in terms of reduced costs, accelerated new product development and improved product quality. Emphasizes that flexibility, configurability and an open architecture are essential ingredients in a successful product information management solution.
