unconcerned for the state of play, an approaching

cold front, hopelessly misaddressed correspondence.

3. Portfolio

Amid claim and counter-claim in the National Park,

just the rarity of fragile beasts; or the fire-resistance of

spider-orchids, button-daisies, local varieties of Hakea;

optionally, the number of paths leading to historic camp

sites, rediscovered run-offs, occasional undrawn sketches

transcribed into cloudcast nearly everyone once knew.

4. Statistics

Reading between the lines (depreciating fickle reversal,

enigmatic cusp, foolhardy hypotenuse), current trends will

hold as true as yesterday’s whitebait, actuarial sagacity

will come to fruition somewhere after mango season, stocks

will mature before the perihelion of Mars, and I, sitting on

a hiding to nothing, should skip a dodge tide and go surfing.

5. Outlook

Orion guards the northern architrave, deflects incoming

hailstorms and solar flares. “Thank you for your recent

communication.” Freight trains rattle a distance where

respiratory pressure equilibrates, supple, beyond incipient

trek and restitution. Spellcheck now complete, I activate

autoreply, hit <enter>, calmly disregard low battery alerts.
