Nova Paint Club's 15th anniversary conference

Nova Paint Club's 15th anniversary conference

The Nova Paint Club, which represents leading independent paint manufacturers from 15 countries and five continents, celebrated the 15th anniversary of its foundation during its annual general meeting and conference held in Mexico during May this year.

Senor Alfredo Achar, Nova president who is also director-general of the Mexican company COMEX, said that the club had never been stronger. It enjoyed high prestige in the surface coatings industry worldwide and had handsomely achieved its aims of co-operation between members in the fields of paint technology, marketing strategies and sourcing of supplies.

Delegates, who visited two of COMEX's manufacturing facilities at Tepexpan and Tepotzotlan and the company's Polymer Research Centre, were impressed by the advanced status of paint technology in modern Mexico.

During the conference an important new appointment was approved that of Dr Ian McEwan, a well-known independent consultant based in Canada, who becomes Nova's technical co-ordinator.

Next year's meeting will be held in Canada, hosted by Sico Inc. An interim management meeting will be held later this year in Barcelona.

Nova members are: Carrs (UK), CIN (Portugal), CMC (France), COMEX (Mexico), Ilios (Greece), Maeder (Switzerland), Nan Pao (Taiwan), PAR (Malaysia), Plascon (South Africa), Pintuco (Colombia), Sico (Canada), Tambour (Israel), Taubmans (Australia), Valentine (Spain) and Votteler (Germany).
