Warwick re-enter paint market with titanium dioxide

The Warwick International Group has re-entered the competitive coatings and polymer markets as the UK distributor of a range of titanium dioxide pigments (Plate 1). This exclusive deal extends their current arrangement in which Warwick sells significant volumes of titanium dioxide into the European market for the leading Slovenian chemical producer, Cinkarna Celje.

Commenting on the development Mel Reid, Director of UK Distribution Sales for Warwick International said "In launching this new range of products into the UK we are combining the established logistics and after sales service of Warwick International with a high quality and robust product. By working with Cinkarna, a trusted partner and manufacturer of quality chemicals, we are able to offer a new product from a name our customers can trust."

Warwick International is both a UK manufacturer of performance activators and a leading European distributor of speciality chemicals. Warwick has a long track record in the coatings and polymers industry as a former subsidiary of Ault and Wiborg.

This new range of rutile TiO2 pigments is lattice stabilised with alumina and silica and come with a choice of inorganic and organic coatings to enhance dispersibility, opacity and durability. Particularly appropriate for use in water and solvent-based decorative and industrial paints, the products are equally suitable for the majority of common applications including primers, powder coatings, flexible PVC compounds, wallpaper and upholstery etc.

Slovenia will enter the EU in 2004 and Cinkarna has well established compliance processes regarding all directives for health, safety and environmental protection as well as being registered to ISO 9002. All manufacture takes place under rigorously controlled conditions to ensure quality and consistency comparable with the best the UK has to offer.
