Abstract

As is well known, Marks and Spencer is supplied by a large number of clothing manufacturers and has endeavoured over many years to assist these suppliers to produce high‐quality merchandise as efficiently as possible. Thus this research is centred mainly on the training of sewing‐machine operators, although the principles discussed are certainly applicable to most manual trades.
