Abstract

‘Alkon’ used for washing‐machine parts. Morphy Richards (Astral) Ltd. have adopted Alkon acetal copolymer, the new tough engineering plastics from I.C.I., for the pulsators of their twin‐tub washing machines. Alkon was chosen for the component because of its dimensional stability at high temperatures and its resistance to hydrolysis and detergents. It also shows a price advantage over metal.
