Aims and scope

The International Journal of Manpower (IJM) is a full refereed, double-blind interdisciplinary journal, concerned with the utilization, management and planning of human resources and the economics of labour markets, and labour economics, from a corporate, local, national and international perspective.

The field of human resource planning and labour economics is a complex one, influenced by the many social, technological and economic changes evident in the world today. The journal is an invaluable support to academics and researchers in the field, and to all those charged with setting policies and strategies relating to workforce issues.

The IJM focuses on strong empirical/analytical quantitative research. It only very exceptionally entertains conceptual or theoretical papers or papers employing experimental or qualitative methodologies. In-depth bibliographical literature reviews are welcomed. The journal regularly publishes guest-edited special issues on themes of contemporary importance.
