Abstract

Reports on an investigation, using econometric techniques, of the household demand for meat as two separate decisions: whether or not to buy meat, and how much to buy. Based on single adult households in the Family Expenditure Survey, it highlights the importance of age, gender, employment class and education of householder, as well as the presence of children and freezer ownership.
