Abstract

Looks at the nutritional element of the Healthy Schools Award, which has been developed to promote health in schools. Gives some background details about the award and outlines how schools work towards the award. Considers the criteria for food which is based on The Balance of Good Health. Concludes that the award contains positive elements for schools.
