Abstract

Examines recent business school graduate’s views on their career and economic futures. Two hundred and seventeen graduates completed anonymous questionnaires. Individual demographics, work situation characteristics, work stressors and work outcomes and measures of psychological well‐being were also included. Respondents saw Canada facing economic difficulties but their own career prospects as reasonably bright. Individuals reporting more optimistic career and economic prospects also reported more positive work outcomes, fewer stressors at work and greater psychological well‐being. Broader implications of these findings as well as future research directions are discussed.
