Abstract

The problems of creating buildings with efficient lifetime has been analysed with special emphasis on their maintenance. First, the principles of a complex analysis, functional considerations, cost‐benefit ratio optimization, interrelation of sciences, mathematical simulation, etc., had been analysed which enabled the authors to work out various systems of decision making. In this paper, one of these systems ‐ “housing refurbishment decision making”, is described at length. Also, a number of ways of achieving more efficient lifetime of a building, with special emphasis on its maintenance, are presented.
