High Priesthood, Low Priestcraft: The Role of Political Consultants
Abstract
The political consequences and effectiveness of the growth in political consultancy in the USA are surveyed. The marketing of electoral candidates creates moral ambiguities. A number of leading consultants are interviewed; their styles, principles, attitudes, values, political positions and methods are very varied.
