Purpose
To provide a summary of the main features of some new web technologies.
Design/methodology/approach
Reviews, contextualizes and provides a summary of new web technologies.
Findings
The new web technologies include a new reference search engine Answers.com, and two web browsers, Firefox and Netscape 8.0
Originality/value
Provides a useful summary for information professionals.
