Abstract

Purpose

Aims to provide a comparison of a search results and relevancy ranking via Google Search, Google Scholar and InfoTrack Database.

Design/methodology/approach

A summary of the results from each search engine is compared.

Findings

This article provides an brief overview of impact of Google services on traditional library services.

Originality/value

This paper is useful for information management professionals who seek greater understanding of how the Google service compared with an aggregated subscription database.
