Abstract

Purpose

This article seeks to explore easier ways to weather the bad economy.

Design/methodology/approach

The article offers the author's views on how librarians can cope with present economic circumstances.

Findings

Money is not the only element of the librarian's job.

Originality/value

The article urges readers to look at patterns of past economies and their effects on libraries, and suggests how librarians might adapt to changing circumstances.
