Abstract

Risk management issues and the implications and implementation of the Basel Accord are concentrating the minds of the banking industry. The author assesses the implications and, from a legal standpoint, advises on how to apply the new skills which will be required. She also suggests various planning points which financial institutions should take into account in the preparation for the day when the Basel Accord takes effect.
