Abstract

Describes a “best technology practice” project conducted at Westminster College, Salt Lake City, USA, in which a feasibility study was outlined in order to replace an outdated phone system with Voice‐over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Discusses the installation and implementation of the new system and their attendant problems, training for faculty, staff and students, budget satisfaction, benefits experienced and, finally, lessons learned, should a similar situation arise elsewhere.
