Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to provide a narrative account of one person's experience of Positive Behaviour Support, against a backdrop of serial placement breakdowns.

Design/methodology/approach

The paper reflects on the human stories that lie behind the evidence base and presents one such story.

Findings

The paper proposes that such stories are as important as the evidence that is gathered around them, and have the power to challenge and to inspire.

Originality/value

This paper is celebratory, rather than analytic. It presents a life being lived and attempts to capture the virtues of its ordinariness.
