Abstract

Advances the view that the strategic tools that firms use to improve their competitiveness can readily be used by individuals to protect their own positions. Introduces the notion of the “competitive advantage” of the individual and demonstrates that there are some simple approaches people can adopt to secure themselves in their place of work by making better judgements. Highlights, in particular, the importance of each individual knowing his/her own value drivers.
