Promoting social inclusion for users of forensic services
Abstract
Everyone has the right to be in employment, regardless of disability or mental health condition. South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT) is working to empower service users to get work, reduce stigma, prejudice and discrimination in the workplace and ensure that the NHS becomes better at employing people with a mental health condition. It offers a training course to give users of their forensic services experience of learning and applying construction skills in a supportive environment, as well as other ways for people to develop skills that support recovery and might one day lead to employment.
