The end of the world is not nigh
Abstract
Popular fearmongers never let the facts ruin a good story, even though, this article reflects, history has proven the pessimists wrong. Pessimistic predictions in a range of areas including land, population, energy, economy and technology are deflated and a lively selection of “futurist howlers” spanning the last two centuries is provided by way of counsel for today’s futurists. The article concludes that the culture of pessimism is not only a dead end, it is patently false.
