Abstract

Magazine articles, books, key note speeches all continue to tell us that the only constant in the world of business today is change. Consequently, many organizations and business leaders look for equally dynamic approaches to managing this change – a “new” way to accelerate change within organizations that ensures the required business benefits are delivered in ultra quick time. And yet, drawing on my own experience of helping organizations manage change (as both an internal and external consultant over the past 12 years), I have often been reassured of the consistent principles that need to considered and applied. Fundamentally, the need to co‐ordinate how the employee is engaged in the change process (how they are communicated with, educated and trained) and how they learn, are critical success factors.
