Why corporations keep getting language training so wrong: “To learn perchance to speak …”
Abstract
To commit or not to commit that is the question, whether it is nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous training or by committing oneself, dare to succeed. Sincere apologies to the Bard, but it is about time that businesses began to understand the reality of what learning a language really involves. This does not entail hourly interludes once a week, but accepting that, like the most things worth having, it is damn hard work.
