Abstract

Purpose

The paper aims to share research findings to date, explain the conceptual model, and discuss workplace implementation options.

Design/methodology/approach

The paper presents concept applications for improved leader communication based on existing research and future potential.

Findings

The paper finds that motivating language is significantly linked to improved organizational outcomes in performance, retention, attendance, innovation, and job satisfaction.

Originality/value

Training and assessment in leader use of motivating language can have a substantial impact on key organizational outcomes.
