This is another encyclopaedic edition of this long running corporate governance text by Andrews Chambers. The heavyweight tome weighs in at a massive 1,310 pages. However, it is not just heavyweight in size but also in terms of contributions; for example, the foreword is given by Professor Lord Smith of Clifton.

The book is peppered with good examples of best practice and with reference to leading corporate governance organisations, for example PIRC Ltd, Hermes and OECD all of which have developed their own principles or ratings.

Cliff Weight's contribution on board remuneration runs to 187 pages, representing approximately 14 per cent of the total book.

This is a “must have” handbook for all UK directors in larger companies and as a reference text for UK University libraries. It is unlikely to be adopted as a main textbook for use on UK University awarding programmes, such as MBA, LLM, other masters programmes, BA or LLB programmes, however, it would be useful as a reference text in UK University libraries.
