Improving Prospects: an innovative police programme providing training for the long‐term unemployed
Abstract
This article describes a training scheme designed for the long‐term unemployed and administered by a police force with funding from external sources. 30% of the recipients have secured employment and volunteer placements are offered. A significant benefit was a positive attitude towards the police service from those receiving the training.
