PAST is grateful to the many funders who have supported Walking Tall over the years. Major long-term and ongoing sponsors of the project include the Standard Bank, the South African Department of Science and Innovation and its National Research Foundation, the Claude Leon Foundation and the National Arts Council and National Heritage Council, both agencies of the South African Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. Walking Tall has provided an artistic platform for dozens of actors, theatre directors and scriptwriters, and PAST acknowledges the talent, dedication and passion that these individuals have brought to the project and its beneficiaries. The PAST board of trustees has come to be an important advocate of the project, and their support will be essential for its continued growth and success. This paper is dedicated to the memory of Greg Melvill-Smith, co-creator of Walking Tall and its founding theatrical director through 2014, and to Andrea Leenen, who passed away in March 2022 after the submission of the final draft.
