Organization Development Network 2019 Annual Conference

The Organization Development (OD) Network Annual Conference takes place October 17-20, at The Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (www.odnetwork.org/page/conference). The theme of this year’s conference is Agility and Resilience: Navigating Complexity and Transformation, and practitioners, academics, and students are invited to explore how the intersection of organizational agility and agile teams can build resilience in the face of increasing complexity.

Organization Development Network Europe 2019 Conference

The European Branch of the Organization Development Network holds its own conference, and this year’s takes place May 8-10, at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, Amsterdam Airport, The Netherlands (https://odneuropeevent.org/). The theme for the 2019 conference is focused on how we are, and can be, inspired by difference. In an increasingly polarized world, our idea of difference, whether political, cultural, social, generational, or something else, sometimes seems to isolate us from others or, on the other hand, brings us closer together. For this theme, the keynote speakers this year are:

  • Otto Scharmer;

  • Mary Ann Rainey;

  • Rob Fijlstra; and

  • Leo van der Voort.

International Organization Development Association 2019 Annual Conference

The International Organization Development Association (IODA) 2019 Conference takes place November 7-9, at Viña del Mar, Chile (https://iodachile.cl/). The theme of this year’s conference is Inclusion & Diversity: a Journey towards Building Trust, and it will include international keynote speakers, experts in the field of inclusion, diversity and trust, facilitators on agile tools, and collective intelligence activities. Professionals are invited from all areas of Organizational Development: Consulting, Capacity Building, Human Resources, Change Management, Community Building, and similar disciplines. Each day of the Conference has a particular focus and these are as follows:

  • November 7th (Day 1) – Inclusion: Feeling welcome and becoming part of a bigger whole.

  • November 8th (Day 2) – Diversity: Collective intelligence comes in all shapes and forms.

  • November 9th (Day 3) – Trust: The basis for any inclusion and acceptance of diversity.

HCI Learning & Leadership Development Conference 2019

The Human Capital Institute’s Learning and Leadership Development Conference 2019 takes place September 10-12, 2019, at Encore Boston Harbor, Massachusetts, USA (https://lldconference.com/).

Interestingly, if attendees are unable to make it, they can purchase a virtual pass allowing them to be part of the Conference via a live stream. Development, learning, and coaching are normally thought of as a “bonus” in the workplace, but in today’s environment, it is not only expected, it is demanded, especially from new generation workers who are quickly disenchanted without access to pathways to growth and new skills. Research overwhelmingly shows that when skill and leadership development is integrated into an organizational culture, it becomes the lynchpin to employee retention. The Conference includes more than 14 innovative keynotes and more than 7 interactive sessions.
