Abstract

Purpose

To show how the future of OD is gearing towards technology, while always focusing on people, and bringing this dichotomy together.

Design/methodology/approach

Explain the WorldsView methodology, elaborate on the case study, and show how technology can be used in the case study.

Findings

Technology can help the organization better see the issues from a broader perspective, making change visible at the executive committee level.

Research limitations/implications

The technology is currently in its test phase and a solid case study has yet to be implemented properly.

Practical implications

The technology will allow users to see all the changes across an organization that they belong to (or are analyzing, if they are an external consultant) and will make quite a significant difference to how executives perceive OR-related fields (change management, HR, etc.).

Originality/value

This technology is the first of its kind, as is the methodology from which it stems, and as such there is very significant value to be derived from the work being done by WorldsView Academy, and the paper as a whole.
