Abstract

Job training is needed for early school‐leavers to redress the inequality they suffer compared with those who continue in full‐time education. For this purpose Training Credits have been devised carrying an attractive monetary value and offering a versatile range of options. As a result local business and education relationships have been reinforced, careers guidance has improved, training information for participants and families has been extended, greater flexibility has been afforded to authorities to set funding levels, and young people have been given their own purchasing power. It is visualised that motivation in all concerned will be vastly encouraged.
