Public Libraries: Charters and Community Involvement

Abstract

Reviews the finalists in the Library Association/Holt Jackson Community Initiative Award: four different public library schemes are considered. Reports the judges′ comments. Notes the relevance of public library charters and describes the achievement of Kent′s Arts and Libraries Department in being awarded a Charter Mark.
