Productivity management: a soft systems approach
Abstract
Describes some of the subjective aspects of productivity management. Examines the philosophy of productivity with respect to the organization. Argues that productivity management demands the knowledge of the organization′s preconceptions and attitudes; involves managing a complex system of relationships. Concludes that a completely analytical and mechanistic approach to productivity, which ignores these factors, is doomed to failure.
