Partnering For Profit
Abstract
Looks at some of the cultural, institutional and systems‐related aspects of building a fruitful relationship between customers and suppliers. Emphasises the importance of relationships to the survival of free‐market enterprise. Discusses a number of fundamental practices, including continuous improvement. Examines one company′s approach. Emphasizes the importance of instituting a formal and structured approach to defining and eliminating unnecessary costs. Contends that the supplier development programme reflects the company′s commitment to, and its perception that all members involved in the processes affecting its products and services should be involved in, this continuous improvement drive.
