Preface

Preface to special issue of selected papers from the 10th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2015.

The 10th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2015 is organized every year in a different venue in Greece in the field of applied and computational sciences and engineering. This international symposium is a great opportunity for scientific exchanges within applied mathematics and numerical analysis communities. Numerical Fluids is one of the most devoted and established international forums on fluid flows, heat and mass transfer problems.

For this special issue, authors were selected by the organizing committee of Numerical Fluids after exceptional contribution and presentation of their short papers at the 10th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2015. These contributions with the proceedings of the symposium represent an outstanding overview of the state of the art of the field and fit well with the scope of International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat and Fluid Flow. Selected contributions were invited to submit an extended full-length paper to a review process through International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat and Fluid Flow editorial system. Seven papers were accepted after reviewing the criteria under the guidelines of International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat and Fluid Flow. This is a sufficient indication of Numerical Fluids 2015 achievement in applied and computational sciences and engineering, and its significant progress for being a platform for the exchange of latest scientific and technical information in the field and shaping of future directions and priorities for better scientific solutions for fluid flows, heat and mass transfer problems. It is hoped that this special issue will encourage readers to participate in the International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids to be held in Greece the following years.

Acknowledgements

We would like to take this opportunity to warmly thank the editor-in-chief, Professor Roland W. Lewis, editorial team of Emerald, all contributing authors for their exciting research results at Numerical Fluids 2015 and for accepting our invitation to submit full-length papers, anonymous reviewers and organizing committee members for their interest and support in enabling the publication of this special issue.

On behalf of the 10th International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids 2015, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been involved in this symposium, the German Jordanian University, Amman, Jordan, ISAE-ENSMA, Institut Pprime, Poitiers, France, the 13th International Conference of Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics (ICNAAM 2015) and the European Society of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, Greece, for their enthusiasms and constant cooperation, and support to the International Symposium on Numerical Analysis of Fluid Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer – Numerical Fluids.
