Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to review the latest management developments across the globe and pinpoint practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies.
Design/methodology/approach
This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context.
Findings
This research paper explores the link between servant leadership and the subjective career success of employee followers. The paper’s results reveal that servant leadership enhances the career skills of followers, and that these career skills boost their level of career success. This effect becomes even more pronounced when the individual follower has a highly proactive personality in comparison to a follower with a lower level of proactive personality. When a follower’s level of proactive personality is high, career skills had a stronger influence on the positive relationships between career satisfaction and servant leadership, and between perceived employability and servant leadership.
Originality/value
The briefing saves busy executives and researchers hours of reading time by selecting only the very best, most pertinent information and presenting it in a condensed and easy-to-digest format.
