It is interesting to stress this paper's main conclusion about the effect of Lesson Study. Its implementation causes a twofold effect, one being the teacher's agency and subsequent consequences, or his/her self-awareness about the efficiency of the enacted role; second, whether such efficiency is oriented either toward student learning or toward teaching improvement. Beyond this, what arises is a consideration of the potential contrast between current beliefs and practices (i.e. how learning assessment should be considered, the current research consensus on the best alignment between learning purposes and conceptions, and assessment procedures). Finally, it seems that such steps will lead teaching toward new scenarios of implementing the practices resulting from the above-considered alignments.
