Each year at the JEA Annual Meeting, the Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) bestows a series of awards that acknowledge scholarly achievement in the field of educational leadership and management.

The A. Ross Thomas Outstanding Paper and Highly Commended Paper Awards are granted annually to the authors of the papers, within each volume, selected by the EAB for their exceptional rigour and originality.

The Emerald Group Publishing and European Foundation for Management and Development Outstanding Doctoral Research Award is bestowed on the dissertation displaying the highest degree of scholarship from the Educational Leadership and Strategy category, which JEA sponsors.

The JEA Legacy Award serves to acknowledge the work of senior scholars who have made enduring and substantial contributions to scholarship in our field throughout their careers. They have provided a synopsis of their work in JEA’s Legacy Paper series.
